Maryborough Speedway - Final Round of Fraser Coast Series.
As a last minute decision we decided to take the VS up to Maryborough so that I could have one last run before our Qld title. Seeing as I was a late nomination I started rear in all of the heats. The track was again quite rough and tricky, and along with the water truck that kept circulating on the track meant there was an awful lot of damage throughout the night for a lot of competitors.
I managed to avoid 3 incidents in the heats that could have ended badly, and I should have realised by then that I had used all of my luck up. I wasn't so lucky in the feature when there was a big pile-up in turn 1 and I got caught with no where to go and the VS sustained a lot of front bar-work & suspension damage.
On our return from Maryborough we stripped the VS of all the panels and Rodney has decided to replace the roof which has still got signs of damage from his last rollover last season. We will endeavour to get the car ready for the Queensland title in the coming weeks, so that the Rodney can then focus on the VZ for the Australian title in 3 weeks time at Lismore speedway.
