Maryborough - Dash for Cash
20 cars braved the drizzle at Maryborough for the Dash for Cash. The light rain had made the track fast and with plenty of drive. Right from the start the pace was going to be quick.
I started the first heat off the rear, and with an evenly matched heat, it was going to be hard to move forward. I had moved up a few spots when I had a bicycle in turn 4. After regaining the car I found myself at the back again and had to settle for 9th spot.
Heat 2 I started out of 4. I got up to 2nd on the start behind Maroske and in the next few laps was able to find my way past him for the lead. A few laps later there was contact with Maroske & Pagel ending up in the fence in turn 4. The restart saw Lorensen hot on my heals, but I held the lead till the last lap. The car had been losing power coming out of the corners on the last 2 laps so on the last lap had to shut it down to avoid any major damage to the engine.
15 cars started the feature which saw Aiden Raymont take the win from Mark Raymont, followed home in 3rd by Darren Pearson.
The car is now in the shed ready to try and find the engine problem.
